Coming off the Vent
Well, Trey and I just spoke with the floor doctor, and they think that EK is ready to come off the vent. We mentioned over the weekend that she had some irritation from the tube that caused her to be really hoarse and scratchy. He said that leaving the tube in longer will only make that problem worse this time around. So, they are in the process of extubating her now. We're really thankful that she is able to come off of the vent so fast. We know that she will be so much more comfortable without it in. And, we're looking forward to seeing her little eyes once she wakes up. We found a computer lab on our floor, which is nice since our laptop is crashing. Plus it gives us a place to get away. We decided that we didn't want to be in the room when the tube comes out. We just hate to see her so uncomfortable. We'll update again in the morning to let you know how she's doing.

Emma Kate, you are so loved and I am SO incredibly proud of you. I hope you have sweet dreams tonight. :)
ReplyDeleteLove to you all.

Praying that all went well with the extubating last night. Praying that your time today with Emma Kate will be less stressful as she has one less tube to be concerned with. In time, each one will be removed as she becomes her happy little self again. God Bless your day today! We will hold up our promise to pray.
